VIENNA, VA – June 12, 2023 – Blu Venture Investors, a private venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments in the cybersecurity and adjacent technology industries, is pleased to announce the recent investment in N5 Sensors, a mission-ready nanoengineered sensor technology to selectively detect chemical hazards to meet the most demanding environmental detection challenges. Blu Ventures led this $2.5M seed round, which also included investments from TEDCO, The University System of Maryland Momentum Fund, and Chesapeake Bay Seed Capital Fund.

 

Blu Ventures was first introduced to Abhishek Motayed, CEO of N5 Sensors, at NSF i-Corp Program in 2014 and closed our first investment in 2016. With this most recent round, Blu has $1.96M invested in N5 Sensors. “We are proud to share that our commercial revenue has been consistently growing and this investment will greatly accelerate our growth,” said Abhishek Motayed. “A big shout-out to Blu Ventures for leading this round and for being N5’s biggest champion since the early days.”
